Some shoots write themselves. The light does the work, the couple brings the feeling, and all you have to do is be there.
We started in the dunes as the sun was getting low. That soft late light that makes everything look warm and unhurried. She was glowing in the way that only happens during pregnancy, and the two of them together were completely at ease. No nerves, no posing, just two people who were happy to be exactly where they were.
Hargen aan Zee is one of those locations that never disappoints. The dunes, the wide open beach, the way the light sits on the water in the last hour of the day. It is a lot to work with. But what made this session were the two of them, and the quiet joy they carried through every single frame.
As the evening went on we made our way down to the water. And then, without much discussion, they just walked in. Clothes and all. The waves came in around them and they didn't care even a little bit. Those ended up being some of my favourite frames of the whole session.
A new chapter was coming, and you could feel it in every photograph.
