Hi, I'm Myrthe

Your wedding day happens once. My job is to make sure you have it forever.

I'm Myrthe, the eye behind Wild Heart Tales. I grew up in the Netherlands with a restless curiosity and a need to chase beautiful things: light, places, moments that only exist for a second. That need is what led me to photography, and it's still what drives every wedding I shoot.

I work with couples who care as much about how their day looks as how it feels. Who choose their venue for the light, their florals for the mood, and want images that are as considered as every other detail they've spent months getting right. My work is romantic and cinematic, and I believe stunning visuals and real emotion are not a trade-off. They belong together.

I photograph weddings in a documentary style with an editorial eye. I stay close without getting in the way, so what you get back are real moments, beautifully captured.

My films are documentary at heart — warm, real, and edited to feel like your day actually felt. I mix cinematic footage with camcorder clips for that lived-in texture you don't get from a heavily produced wedding film.

Video is a newer part of what I offer, and I bring the same eye to it that I bring to photography. It's honest storytelling, just in motion.

The Engagement Shoot

Before the wedding, meet the camera

Most couples have never had a photoshoot together before their wedding. The engagement session changes that — it's one relaxed hour to get comfortable with each other, with the light, and with me. So that on the day itself, you're not thinking about what to do with your hands.

Book it as an add-on to your wedding package and you'll receive all the images beautifully edited and delivered within 2–3 weeks. Perfect for a save the date, something to frame, or just a reason to spend an evening outside together.

The Wedding Album

Your story, in print

A screen never quite does it justice. A printed album is something you keep on the table, pass around at Christmas, and look through years later. It tells the story of your day in the right order, in a format that doesn't need a battery.

Albums are fine-art quality — thick lay-flat pages, flush mounting, available in a range of sizes, covers, and finishes. Designed together, made to last.

I travel regularly for weddings across Europe and beyond. For European destinations, flights and accommodation are part of the package. No separate quotes, no hidden costs added later.

A lot of what makes wedding photography beautiful comes down to timing. I help couples think through their day with the light in mind — when to do portraits, how to use the venue, where to be at the right moment.

Frequently asked questions

All packages include a private online gallery with full printing rights, a sneak peek within one week, and travel within the Netherlands. The Complete Story package also includes an engagement or after-wedding shoot, a photo album, and a USB. Full details are in each package above.
It depends on the hours of coverage and how your day unfolds, but as a guide: 300 to 450 for a 6-hour package, 450 to 600 for an 8-hour package, and 600 to 800 for a full 12-hour day. Every image is carefully selected and edited. You'll get quality, not quantity.
You'll receive a sneak peek of a handful of favourites within about a week. Your full gallery arrives within 6 to 8 weeks, delivered to a private online gallery where you can download in full resolution, share with family, and order prints directly.
Yes, all the time. I've shot weddings in Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, France, Madeira and beyond. For European destination packages, flights, accommodation and local transport are included in the price. For weddings outside Europe, travel costs are discussed individually.
Yes, and I'd recommend it. When you book both, I bring a trusted assistant who handles the video while I focus entirely on photography. That means nothing gets missed and neither the photos nor the film are compromised. Just let me know when you reach out.
For most weddings I work alone and cover everything comfortably. For larger weddings with 100 or more guests, or where there are simultaneous moments happening in different locations, a second shooter is worth considering. We can talk through this during our consultation.
Send me a message through the contact page or book a free 30-minute consultation call directly via Calendly. We'll talk through your day, your vision, and whether we're a good fit. If we are, I'll send a proposal and contract. A deposit secures your date.
Rain creates beautiful, moody photographs and I genuinely enjoy shooting in it. I always come prepared and will work with whatever the weather gives us. Some of my favourite portraits have been taken in the rain.
€500 for weddings in the Netherlands, €1,000 for destination weddings. The remainder is due one week before your wedding day. Once your deposit is received and the contract is signed, your date is confirmed.
The deposit is non-refundable, as it holds your date exclusively. If you need to postpone, I'll do my best to move to your new date at no extra cost, subject to availability. If you cancel, a cancellation fee applies based on how far in advance — ranging from 25% to 90% of the total package price. Full details are in my Terms & Conditions.
It has never happened, but I'm always prepared. I bring a backup camera to every wedding, and if I'm truly unable to be there, I arrange a trusted replacement photographer from my professional network. The terms stay exactly the same, and I handle all the editing myself — so the final result is still in my hands.
I keep a backup of your gallery for a minimum of two years after delivery. Your online gallery also stays accessible during that time. I'd recommend downloading your images as soon as you receive them and keeping your own copy — an external drive, cloud storage, or both.
